Aerial TV is a software application that functions as an offline receiver for DVB-T and DVB-T2 signals through a USB tuner, eliminating the need for a data plan or Wi-Fi connection. This tool operates by capturing local digital signals over-the-air by using a standard antenna, offering support for MPEG2, MPEG4, and HD reception where available, along with EPG functionality.

To utilize Aerial TV, you will require a low-cost USB tuner hardware, which can be purchased online for less than €10. It is recommended to acquire an rtl-sdr RTL2832 tuner for optimal performance. Upon receiving the hardware, simply attach the provided antenna and commence signal reception. In some cases, a USB OTG cable may be necessary to connect the tuner to your Android device. These cables are easily accessible and budget-friendly.

Aerial TV provides a complimentary 30-minute trial period to explore all features. Once the trial expires, users have the option to make a one-time purchase to remove time restrictions.

Before proceeding, ensure that your Android device supports USB OTG functionality. If uncertain, refer to your device manual or conduct an online search for verification. Additionally, verify the availability of DVB-T/DVB-T2 signals in your locality by conducting a quick online search. Please note that DVB-T2 reception requires compatible R828D dongles, and a sufficiently strong signal is necessary for Aerial TV to detect it effectively. For optimal results, it is advisable to use an outdoor aerial.

Important to note: Aerial TV solely functions as software for DVB-T/DVB-T2 hardware receivers and does not include or provide content. Operation of Aerial TV is dependent on the user-supplied USB hardware tuner for signal reception; thus, there is no guarantee of signal reception by Aerial TV.
